The results are in...we are having a grain of rice!! :) Just kidding! Actually, we had our first ultrasound today. We are truly pregnant, and the single heartbeat we saw was the hard core evidence I needed. Dr. Anderson was extremely relieved there weren't two little heartbeats. He's very nervous for me with a singleton pregnancy...so having twins would have pushed him over the edge!
Shayne and I had kinda been hoping we would be having twins, just to get more bang for our buck! But...it's truly a blessing that we are having just one. Heavenly Father knows what I can handle, and I really feel like my body would not have handled twins...and then we wouldn't have any baby. So...we are ecstatic that we are pregnant!!
The heart was just beating away...it was amazing. It's actually kind of weird for me. I've been prepared my whole life to not have children, and to see this actually inside of me is pretty darn surreal. Just in case you can't tell what you are looking at...Dr. Anderson marked the top and the bottom of the fetus with little "+" signs. It truly is about the size of a grain of rice.
The good news is that we don't necessarily have to continue with the progesterone shots. When I asked Dr. Anderson...he just said..."Naw, I think you're good. Some Dr.'s like you to go 12 weeks, but when I see a heartbeat, I know that it's in there pretty good. But...if you want, you can go with 1/2 cc for the next couple of days, to wean yourself off." He's so funny...why can't he just tell me... "Yes, continue for a couple of days.", or..."No, don't worry about it." Now my butt is telling me..."Please!! No more!!" But...my brains says..."Probably should wean yourself off...would probably be better." Now, I know I'm going crazy...I'm telling people my butt is talking to me! :)
Anyway...just wanted to share the good news! The other good news is that we are leaving for Mexico in about 2 1/2 weeks, and when I told Doc...he said, "Have fun!" Yeah!!

Congratulations! How exciting for you! I knew exactly what I was looking at because I am now an expert on ultrasounds. I had so many that I was telling the tech what was up. I have been dying to find out if there was one or two babies in there and now that I know, I am going to be dying to find out what you are having. If you don't want to know, that's okay, just send me the answer in the mail! I am serious, I can't stand not knowing what people are having. Have so much fun in Mexico and you can even drink the water seeing that you already have morning sickness. You won't even be able to tell the difference when you get sick from drinking it! Tell Shayne congrats and tell your butt to take a break. You guys are awesome! I am so excited for you both.
Congrats! That is awesome! Take lots of sunscreen with you to Mexico. The sun is pretty close and burns really fast! (Talking from experience!!) Have Fun!
Thanks for the call this morning! I am so excited for you. I think about what is happening to you and it seriously brings tears to my eyes because I am so happy for you guys. Well I hope I can say that we will be going to Mexico in 2 1/2weeks, we will know by Tuesday i think or by the end of this week. I really hope we can join you in the fun. We can celebrate big time in Mexico. Party!!!!
Congrats! I've been waiting not-so-patiently for the 25th to come (I'm sure more patiently that you!!) to make sure there was a heartbeat, or rather, how many there were!! I am so happy for you! I love your grain of rice. It's beautiful.
This is really late in replying and we have already done our celebrating, but congrats again. I really enjoyed your testimony today, brave girl (how many people came and asked if you were pregnant?) Anyways, hooray hooray and I am glad you have morning sickness!! Just one of the many joys of pregnancy yet to come. P.S. my new blog address is swansonlineup.blogspot.com.

It's VAL. I just wanted to tell you congrats. HOW WONDERFUL and EXCITING!... I am so happy for you! Having a baby will definitely change your life! Krystal always keeps me up to date on everybody when I see her. But it's fun people have blogs now so we can actually feel a little more a part of their lives!
I am sooo happy for all three of you. How lucky is this little guy or guyette. You are in my thoughts. Give me a yell if you are ever on an LA layover....those are great for a cuppa coffee and a chat. I am not that far from the airport and would love the chance to say hi. There is also an extra bed if the layover is longer than a mere chat. Good luck.
