“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Hanging w/ Uncle Bobo and Nana

Sweet Pea and Uncle Bobo...the funnest uncle EVER!!  She had actually woken up from a nap downstairs, and he happened to be down there and heard her, so he got her up and brought her upstairs.  But he played with her for a bit first.

Playin' peek-a-boo with Nana

Just some fun pics of her playing with Nana...and Uncle Bowdrie, aka: Bobo.

Sweet Pea was loving Nana...she loved how she played with her.  Nana got some of the best giggles out of her...and you can tell from the pics.  So dang cute!

We hadn't seen uncle Bowd since he left on his mission Feb 2009 when The Bug was about 5 months old.  So, The Bug had changed quite a bit for Bowd.  Bowd is such a fun uncle.  He LOVES his nephews and nieces and they absolutely LOVE him...except for Kinz (but she really does love him she just doesn't want him to know it.  :)  ).  So the kids were glad to have Uncle Bobo to play with...and believe me he does play with them.  He's even great with the babies...seriously gonna be such a good daddy.  May not be very good at any sort of discipline, but he'll be the funnest dad on the block!!  :)

Night Shots - Lightening Storm

These first two night pics are in my parents field.  Kade came w/ his camera and showed me how to set up my camera for a long exposure.  It was pretty cool getting the pics we did.  I really enjoyed learning something new with my camera.

This pic shows the lights from Thikol??...not sure of the spelling.  This is looking south.  You can see the panels from my parents arena/roping shoot.  I thought it was pretty cool.

This one has part of the big dipper.  It's looking north, and I think the light on the right is from a car that drove by.

This one is looking north too...I just liked the red lights of the truck that drove by.

These  next few shots are from Sunday night during a lightening storm.  Shayne, Kade, and I drove up past the Kid's Pond and took shots of an old cabin there.  It was so dang fun...and very cool.  We actually saw a small fire up in a canyon that had started as a result of the lightening.  These exposures are anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

I haven't edited any of these shots, and some of the are blurry.  I'm learning.  But for my first time I thought they turned out pretty cool.  Kade got some pretty incredible ones.  I had fun hanging out w/ my little brother doing something we both enjoy.

The front light is from Kade's phone.

Can you see Shayne?

Can you see him again?

Sunday Afternoon Storm

For dinner on Sunday we went out to Maysi & Austin's.  Dinner was great, conversation was interesting, and Shayne entertained us w/ his attempts to tie the tying dummy.  Maestin had to show him how it was really done.  Seeing that thing brought back lots and lots of memories...not all good.  :)  My dad (and then brothers, though I was out of the house by then) spent HOURS tying that thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.  Many times we had to time my dad with a stop watch while he practice.  My dad was seriously OBSESSED with roping...I say "was"...he still is but not quite at the level he was when I was a kid.

Anyway...I digress...

After dinner all of the sudden there was a microburst rainstorm...and it was amazing!  It dumped a ton of water.  My poor little Alaskan boy thought it was awesome to run out in the rain, b/c it wasn't cold at all.  The other kids I think thought he was crazy at first, but then they joined in pretty quickly when they saw Shayne running around with his kid.  Pretty soon they were all running around in the puddles, and then my kid decided to get down on his belly and lick the water in a puddle!  Ummm...this is a working ranch.  It's not just dirt in them there puddles!  Gross.  But hey...what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger right?

The storm didn't last very long, and as the clouds were rolling out we were able to watch a pretty incredible sunset.  I wish I had had my good camera with me, but I didn't.  Kade had his and caught an AWESOME pic of some lightening across the valley with Maysi's house in the pic.  It was pretty cool.  We went out later that night and took some really cool lightening shots.  I'll post those next.

Kinzie's B-Day

So, I'm not posting the big old Price Family Carnival/Family Pics yet, b/c I took nearly 900 pics of that day ALONE!  So...I'm delaying that post until I can go though and just pick out the really good pics.  I'll try to narrow it down to 20.  :)

However, the next day was Kinzie's 3rd Bday.  Dezi & Trev stayed over in the horse trailer, aka: Pond Honeymoon Suite, and had a little party at my mom's house the next day.

They had their pony at Maysi's house letting her boys ride it to work out some of it's bad habits and were planning on taking it back the next day, so Trev saddled him, Petey, up and helped the little kids ride him.  Kinz is a crazy little rider...she LOVES it...very much like her mamma.  She wasn't too keen on sharing, but daddy said she had to, so The Bug got to ride.  He thought it was pretty cool to ride by himself.  We put Zane on behind him, and Zane being Zane proceeded to kick the pony to make him go.  Trev had to run a bit to catch Petey and slow him down before the boys fell off!  It was pretty funny.  So glad The Bug got to ride him.

Zane also loves to strip down to his b-day suit and run around, and there was a kiddie pool still inflated from the day before so Zane decided to strip and play in it.  Well, The Bug is still a little slow on the undressing part, so I helped him strip so he could play in the pool.  I had to take some pics.  The more funny part was Kinzie just sitting on her log watching those two crazy boys run around and play in the pool.

Then it was time for bday cake and presents.  Dezi made a pink pony for her, and I made the cupcakes.  It was super cute.  Kinz was good about taking cupcakes to everyone to share.  She got lots of presents, but the big one was a little battery run 4-wheeler.  She LOVED it!!  Unfortunately for her...so did everyone else.  And she wasn't a big fan of sharing her brand new present.  There's a pic of her sitting on the ground crying while her brother, Jayvin, is riding around.  Kinda funny.  I figure it was her party, she could cry if she wanted to...right?  :)

Anyway...it was a super fun day.  Glad we got to be there for Kinzie's 3rd bday!

Riding Zan...and the tractor

Thursday we spent the day on the horses...and the tractor.  We got out Zan, my dad's stud horse.  He is the best horse for little kids and inexperienced riders my parents have on their place. You wouldn't think this about a stud, but he really is such a nice horse.  So, we got him saddled up so The Bug could ride a horse...with me of course.  I also rode Jazzy and did some barrels on her so I could run in the jackpot that night.

Dad got out the tractor and worked up their arena, and then ended up driving into town to the fairgrounds to work the ground there for the jackpot as well.  The Bug decided to ride with Grandpa in the tractor into town.  We followed behind and took pics and filmed as well.  He would wave to us from the tractor window.  We decided he wasn't in need of a carseat, b/c whatever was hitting the tractor would be on the losing end.  :)

Shancy and her two boys had come to Malad for the jackpot and to stay at mom's that night.  So, Zane and The Bug had a blast riding in the tractor with Grandpa and then playing in the dirt.  It was pretty ridiculous how dirty they were.  Needless to say they took a bath that night and left quite dirt pile in the tub when they were done.

I got to run Jazzy in a time only, and had fun.  I hadn't "run" barrels in probably 10 years, so I was little out of practice and not used to the speed, but I didn't do too bad considering.  It was fun...and that's all that mattered.

Over all it was a pretty fun day...minus the sunburns on The Bugs legs from riding that morning with me.  But...was fun none the less.
