“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Vacation

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I hear I'm in trouble for the long delay...Aaron! :) Shayne and I left for Idaho on June 26th, and came back on July 2nd. We spent 3 days in Bear Lake (Idaho side) w/ my family for a vacation. We then spend 3 days in Ririe w/ Shayne's fam, where Shayne did some fishing w/ his dad and brother (I'll post pics of that later). Then the next day we hiked up to Crescent Lake to spend 4 days/3 nights in a public use cabin up there. So...it's been a long 10 days of vacation, and I'm still not settled back into real life again. In fact, we are headed out early tomorrow morning to float the Swanson River here on the Peninsula with two other couples and won't be back until Saturday. So, I'll give more details and and add more posts describing our busy couple of weeks later!

Me with my sisters: Shancy (due Oct. 26th), Maysi (w/ 10 day old Holdan), me (due Oct. 11th), Ashley (has 2 month old Braylee), & Dezi (due Sept. 11th). Crazy huh?! 5 grandkids in less than 6 months!!

Shayne caught a carp in Bear Lake w/ his fly rod...right on the beach...on purpose!! This is him showing my nephews Maestin, and Jayvin the fish. Ruxton was in the pic, but the fish moved and freaked him out...so he's standing off to the side, watching. :)

Me w/ Shayne's mom Jonette and little sister, Tayler, on her girls' camp hike. We hiked about 10 miles round trip up to the Lower Palisades Lake. Way fun hike! So glad I got to do it with them...even though Tayler's long legs are like a Moose, and I couldn't stay up with her! :)

Shayne catching one of the MANY Grayling in Crescent Creek and Crescent Lake. He wet-waded like this the entire day...this is Alaska...the water is NOT warm!! He's crazy!!

This is most of the group that, hiked/backpacked/push or pulled strollers/rode a bike, the 6.5 miles up to the Crescent Lake cabin. From L-R: Lauren, Corinne, Haakon, Lyndsay, & Torsten; Tyler w/ his dog Osa; Jared, Kaye & Malia (sleeping); Shayne, me, Bo & Tipz. (Can't forget the dogs! Kona, Jared and Kaye's dog was MIA for the pic.) We took the pic a little too late, b/c Anderson, Kim & Porter had left about 3 hours before, but we had a blast w/ them!! We had sooo much fun with this gang...and hope to make it a 4th of July tradition.

That is so great you got to come home for a visit. I can't believe your sisters have babies!!!! I still picture them as beehives. It's great to see you all together.

Pepper I came across your blog and am jealous of all the fish you catch. I worked with you back at McKee's many many years ago. I was Amber Cranor back then, but it is good to see you doing so well and congrats with the baby. Hey is Dezi Williams your sister. They were in our old ward in Poky and we had our babies like 5 hours apart. You will have to tell her I said hi if it is. :) Amber Moon

You need to go to bed. You finally get to sleep on a mattress. So I am still waiting to see your blog about the Swanson River. I am interested on how you feel now about the trip. I hope the good out weighs the bad. Remember the tent conversation, Aaron falling in the river, fire talk, the good food...or maybe not, floating down without hitting rocks, the couple of hours I was actually quiet.....all these things should make you smile. Thanks for the entertainment.

I love the pics!! I'm so glad you got to go home so your fmaily could see you pregnant. People say I'm like the energizer bunny...but I'm starting to think you have some of those same characteristics. Oh well...that's what makes some of the best memories once you look back on them. You're doing awesome!! Just remember it's okay to still take naps in the summer time!
