“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Post Updates

So...just as an FYI...there are three new posts. Yes, three. That's what I get for not keeping up on my blog! We have about 2 weeks left before our baby gets here, so I'm trying to get caught up on things I've been procrastinating.

Things with me have been good. I'm just dealing with last month pregnancy issues. You know...swelling that drives me crazy, blood pressure that goes up and then comes down, and the whole false-labor contractions that distract and mess with your day. Other than that...I've been doing great! Shayne's starting to get more excited every day about having a baby...it's kinda cute! :)

As far as any exciting news...Shayne's sister KayCee had her babies on Monday the 15th. She went into pre-term labor Sunday night, was flown to SLC and delivered her twins on Monday afternoon. The little boy, Rican, passed away shortly after being born, like they had expected (he was born with the most severe form of Osteogenisus Imperfecta, or Brittle Bone Disease). They knew this ahead of time, so it wasn't quite the shock it would have been had they not known. However, they have a very healthy, though small, little girl. PresLee was 4 lbs 14 oz, but she was born at not quite 35 weeks. Mom and baby are doing great. KayCee will be out of the hospital on Friday, but PresLee will be there just a little while longer. She's just a little bit small to go home quite yet.

So, Shayne's family is happy to have their first grandchild here at last!

K--that's the news for the moment. Read on and find out what Shayne and I have been up to in the last month! :)

Hey Pepper, now that the word is out I've been tracking you down : ). No Heather didn't give me the info, she's still spacey, but that's why I love her. But if you have a chance my email is jtarbet81@yahoo.com. We've started doing adoption but we are still doing fertility as well. By the way I'm trying to get Heather to start a blog. I just have to say I'm really sorry about your nephew but I'm glad that your niece is okay. Plus my whole family is so excited for you to have your baby!!

Pepper you are the cutest pregnant lady. I love the pictures. I am so excited for you. I hope everything goes well during the delivery. I am so sorry for the loss of your nephew. Even when you know some one won't be with you very long it still hurts to imagine life or even live life without them. One question for you WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ALL THE FISH YOU CATCH????
Miss ya tons Heather Casper

So only 2 weeks left. So exciting! Congrats to Shayne's sister and husband and their beautiful babies. Our Heavenly Father is always with us, and I can see that in your sister-in-laws experience.

LOL...I had no idea you were in Alaska until I saw your blog. You are living in such a beautiful place! Congratulations on your baby! It's awesome to catch up with where everyone is and how they are doing, in some ways it brings me right back to the "good old days" :D

Just a tip, to keep swelling down, eat 80-100 grams of protein a day. Works wonders. Glad to hear all is well with your pregnancy. Doesnt seem like that long ago you were taking the pregnancy test! Take care, Tyra

I can't believe you've only got two weeks left! Crazy! I am so excited for you. Motherhood is such a wonderful experience, albeit very hard work. Good luck! I can't wait to see pics of your little guy... I think you are a darling little pregnant gal, and kudos to your good friends for your fun showers. (I LOVED the blue and brown cake!!)
