“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Christmas Eve Jammies

This is Shordy tattling on Tiny for eating the paper.  :)

Of course we have to have the tradition of opening a new pair of pj's on Christmas Eve.  Tiny thought it was AWESOME!!  Ok...she thought the rattling paper was awesome.  She also liked the tag way better than the actual pj's.  But...her jammies were so cute.

Shordy was a little concerned about her eating the paper, but he let her have at it.  He of course wasted no time at all getting his own pj's opened.  He thought they were pretty cool.  I had a picture of him holding them up...they said "Santa's Helper"  Not sure why that pic didn't upload.  Oh well.

I love new Christmas pj's.  I love them even better when I have the two cutest kids you've ever seen wearing them!

CPH Christmas Party

Every year the hospital puts on a big Christmas party for the kids of the employees.  They rent out the Sports Center (which has a big hockey rink) and they provide food/dessert, fun little crafts, free pics with Santa, free sleigh rides with a horse-drawn sleigh in the parking lot, and this year they had free ice skating.

Shayne was at basketball practice until later, but we went and got to go for a sleigh ride...it was so much fun!  Wish I could've gotten pictures of Shordy riding in the sleigh.

It was nice this year that Shordy wasn't scared of Santa.  And of course, Tiny wasn't big enough to know any different.  He even asked Santa for Legos, which was exciting for him.  :)

Then Shordy and I decided to try out the ice skating.  I grew up ice skating in Mackay.  Our neighbor had a small field he would flood w/ water and turn into an ice skating rink for the "neighborhood" kids.  I use neighbor hood loosely...our neighborhood took on about 15 miles of families that lived on different farms and ranches.  Anyway, I thought I would see if I still remembered how to skate since it had been about 20 years since I had really been skating.

But...I didn't do too bad.  I could even still skate backwards!  I didn't fall once, even though Shordy was all over the place and nearly pulled me down a couple of times.  I really was impressed with myself.  Shordy wasn't nearly as excited to go skating once he was on the ice and falling all over the place.

But it was fun none-the-less.  Should be fun next year when Tiny is big enough to be scared of Santa and maybe Shordy can stand on skates by himself.  We'll see how it goes.

Winter Solstice

Here's our friendly visitor...we've seen them pretty frequently in our yard this winter...wait...we seen them frequently every winter.  :)

These pics were taken on the Winter Solstice.  The longest darkest night of the whole year.  Or the shortest darkest day  of the whole year.  But...this means that tomorrow will be longer than today...and that there will be more sunlight the day after that and the day after that and the day after that!!!  Which means winter is sorta on the downhill slide!!!

Woo Hoo!!!

It does not mean that it will be getting warmer.  In fact January/February are usually the coldest months of the year...lovely.

But...at least the sunsets are pretty, even though they are around 3:53...and we are only getting 5 hours and 41 minutes of daytime.

All I have to say is:

Ick.

Bring on the sunshine!!!

7 Months!!

Our sweet smiley Tiny girl...we love this 7 months old  baby girl.

Hmmm...whats this pretty shiny thing?

Hmmm...I think I need to inspect this bow a little more.

Uh-oh...Big Brother has noticed Tiny is messing with a bow on the present...and he's not ok with.

This is him trying to push her away with his foot...before I told him to not push her.

And of course we have to taste the bow.

Here's our Tiny at 7 months with the Christmas Tree and presents.  And her Wocket.

She loved the presents...ok mostly the bows.  Shordy didn't like her messing with the bows and proceeded to try and push her away from them multiple times.  It was kind of funny.

In the last month this little girl has gotten both her bottom teeth.  Her first one broke through on Sunday December 4th and the second was not far behind it.  She has a pretty cute little smile with those two little teeth.

She's such a sweet smiley baby.  We love her so much!

She's starting to figure out the food thing.  She used to have a problem with that little tongue of hers pushing the food right back out, but she's slowly starting to figure it out though.

She's also such a busy busy busy girl.  She is ALWAYS moving. She loves for you to hold her while she stands and bounces and bounces and bounces and bounces...or jumps and jumps and jumps and jumps.  Thankfully enough we were able to borrow a bouncy chair attached to 3 springs from the Fannon's that saves my poor arms.  She is able to jump around to her hearts content...and I'm able to get stuff done.  It's a win-win situation.

So...while she is always moving and will be keeping us busy as she continues to get more mobile...she makes up for it all when she smiles one of her huge smiles...which she does a lot.

Can't wait for Christmas and watching her tear open her presents...or just watch her tear the paper after we've helped her tear it off the present.

Yeah for our Tiny!  Getting bigger every day.
