“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Winter Solstice

Here's our friendly visitor...we've seen them pretty frequently in our yard this winter...wait...we seen them frequently every winter.  :)

These pics were taken on the Winter Solstice.  The longest darkest night of the whole year.  Or the shortest darkest day  of the whole year.  But...this means that tomorrow will be longer than today...and that there will be more sunlight the day after that and the day after that and the day after that!!!  Which means winter is sorta on the downhill slide!!!

Woo Hoo!!!

It does not mean that it will be getting warmer.  In fact January/February are usually the coldest months of the year...lovely.

But...at least the sunsets are pretty, even though they are around 3:53...and we are only getting 5 hours and 41 minutes of daytime.

All I have to say is:

Ick.

Bring on the sunshine!!!
