So...I was excited to come home to Alaska and see my lonely husband. However, here's how my day went today:
Get to the Idaho Falls Airport...after driving through snow, and hearing about how much snow has dumped on Seattle, and how many people have been delayed...to check in.
Lady at the counter says, "Hmmm...your flight out of IF is delayed and you're not going to make your Seattle connection." (Keep in mind I was "supposed" to have a 3 hour layover in Seattle, so this delay was a fairly substantial one.) On with the conversation: "So, let's see what we can find for you into Anchorage... ... ... ..." after about 20-25 minutes she informs me that the soonest I can fly out of Seattle into Anchorage is on Dec. 26th!!! I hate snow!!!
So here I am, still in Idaho. It coule be much worse, and I know this. I could be stuck in a Seattle airport for two days, b/c I was also informed there are zero hotel rooms in Seattle b/c of the flight delays due to all the snow. It's nice that I get to spend Christmas with both my family and later that day with Shayne's family. However, if I had my choice I would spend it with Shayne. He's my best friend, and who better to spend the holidays with than your best friend? It's also Lachlan's first Christmas, and we don't get to spend it as a family.
Ok...enough of my pity party. I know it could be worse, but it could be better.
Wish I could be there with you Shayne...I love you!

Ohh, so sorry for your luck with the bad weather. Hang in there Pepper.
Hang in there! Hopefully it will get better and you will see your hubby soon!!!
Shayne sounded pretty bumbed, but would rather have you safe. You can have Christmas anytime. Can't wait for you to see your hubby soon. Travel safe.
That sucks! I'm so sorry - especially your first Christmas as a little family. But, the baby won't know the difference if it's a day late and it will be just as special.
It was so fun to see you Saturday. Hope we don't wait as long next time!
xoxo
Dangit! I am so sorry! But Michelle is right...Lachlan won't know the diffence! (and I am sure the Grandma's are SO happy!)
Sorry you're stuck in Idaho! What a wacky year for Holiday travel. In 23 years of marraige this is the first time Doug and I haven't been together for Christmas & it's certainly a less than perfect scenario! Doug & Ryan spent Christmas with my parents in Coeur d'Alene & are headed back to Whitefish tonight. Then Doug will be flying home for the weekend tomorrow. I think his flight on Alaska leaves Seattle a little after 4pm. If you are going through Seattle around that time, keep an eye out for him. Anyway, I will be praying that both of you make it home safe and sound! Merry Christmas! Julie
