“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

ABC's & 123's

For those of you who don't know, we have laminate throughout our entire house. This is great when you have dogs, but not so great for laying a baby down on. So, I received my solution from the UPS man yesterday...it's a foam puzzle-piece play mat with numbers and letters. Lachlan loves the colors and textures, and I love that I can put him on the floor finally.

I decided to take some pics of him on his new play mat and in his new Valentines outfit he got from Grammy Jo. I also took this video of him playing on the mat, and he rolled over. Now, this isn't the first time he's rolled, in fact he's doing it pretty regularly now, but it's the first time I got it on video...so I had to share.
The rest of the pictures show his personality so much...he's such a happy smiley boy. In fact, I took him to Shayne's last basketball game Tuesday, and he was passed around to lots of girls/boys on the basketball teams, and the parents of those kids as well...this is the norm. One of the grandparents of the boys informed me after the games, that I sure had a good little boy. Said he was the happiest content little boy he's ever seen...and he had 3 kids of his own...wished his kids were as good as Lachlan. Let's just say I was the proud beaming mommy of the smartest, cutest, most smiley boy you've ever seen!!

p.s. I've been a busy bee and have about 4 new posts up. Sorry for the obscene amount of pictures.

Growling Bathtub Baby

I took this last week when he had started to "growl". I'm not sure how I feel about having my naked baby on the internet...but he was so funny how he was growling. He's also started grabbing his toes which you can see he's close to doing here. Do I not have the cutest baby in the world...just smile and say "yes!"

Higher Daddy...Higher!!

Shayne has been having so much fun with Lachlan lately. Mostly it's because he can play with him, and "rough" him up a little more. These pics are classic examples...he loves to toss him in the air...and Lachlan loves it. He's also really started to recognize his daddy and give him big smiles when he sees him...I can tell it absolutely melts Shayne's heart when he sees those "daddy-smiles". So cute for me to see my boys interact like this too.

And the winner is...

Well...it's a tie!! Daniel's Croup and Cold Ointment and The Crane Elephant Cool-mist Humidifier are winners in my book. We just recently made it through our first major cold over Valentines Day...it is NOT fun. We could not have managed as well were it not for these wonderful things.

The Daniel's ointment is ONLY made in Malad, Id. and is way better than Vicks or Mentholatum...seriously. I just happened to be in the pharmacy with my mom and bought this while in Idaho. It's been around FOREVER, because Malad has been around for nearly forever. :) Anyway...we know the pharmacist personally, so I was able to ask him about the ingredients...those who know me know I'm a little bit a freak about that stuff. Anywho...put a little bit on Lachlan's chest, and then on his feet, and he didn't cough much and the congestion didn't get too deep into his chest. Wonderful stuff!!

The little elephant cool-mist humidifier was also wondeful. It was the last one, which is why we have an elephant, but it works great.

Our little dude was pretty sick for about 3-4 days, running a 102 fever and just lethargic. Gotta love traveling on airplanes, and being around lots of little cousins. It wasn't fun...but even when he was sick...he was still a pretty happy little boy. I just love his personality...always laid back and happy. Couldn't ask for a better baby.

If you want some of the ointment...the phone number is on the label in the picture. Seriously...good stuff.

I hope they call me on a mission!!

We went down the first week of February to see Bowd off for his mission. He's off to the Minnesota-Minneapolis mission...yup...he's aware that he's going to freeze to death! :) Anywho...I took some pics of him while we were down there. Just thought I would dedicate an entire post to him. He's the youngest of six kids...and you definitely know it. I'm 13 years older than him, but we have a great relationship. He's a very good kid, and for the most part (we won't go into details here) he's a great example. :) He's very excited to serve a mission, and I know he'll be an awesome missionary. We'll miss him, but know he's doing good things!!

Last picture with Bowd, me and Lachlan. We left that afternoon, and he reported to the MTC the next day.

Saying goodbye...he can't be normal and just give me a hug...he's got to give me a zurbert(sp??), and lick my face!! Eeewwww....that's Bowd.

Giving me a sad face for the cell phone that will be causing withdrawls in the MTC.

This is what Bowdrie was doing the day before reporting to the MTC...mostly standing around trying to be cute. :)

This is what my mom did the day before Bowd was going into the MTC...yup, ironing his shirts. I told her not to, but he is the baby, and completely incapable of doing right by himself. She also packed all his things...and ended up cleaning his room and his car after he left. She didn't really miss him until about a week ago...after all his mess was finally cleaned! Gotta love the baby!! :)

This is a perfect example of Bowdrie. He got a very nice merino wool sweater vest. Then he put it on top of a pile of dirty clothes he brought up from his room in an attempt to clean the room. My mom...doing his laundry...threw everything in the washer. She didn't see the sweater vest he SHOULD have put in the suitcase. You can see the results for yourself...and my mother's reaction.

His "whoops, but I'm still cute" face, while modeling the very shrunken sweater vest. My mom and I worked for the next 2-3 hours to stretch it back out per instructions found on the internet. I still don't think it worked though. Oh well!!

Going through his "stuff", namely paint-ball stuff, to give to Kade while he's gone. I inherited his cd's and an iPod speaker. Love you Bowd! :)

Hangin' with Kade and Shayne farming out the good stuff while he's gone. Gotta love missions! :)

Bowd has always loved his nephews, and recently his nieces. He's a very good uncle, and his older nephews are going to miss him lots.

With his girlfriend Kelli (and Kinzie's hair bow, above). She's a very cute girl he met at school in Logan, and we hope she sticks around. Shayne gives her 3 maybe 6 months...isn't that terrible?!

Bowd at the dinner after he went through the temple...that's his buddy Ben giving his sad face that Bowd is leaving.

Idaho...again

These are pictures from our quick trip to Idaho the first week of February for my brother Bowdrie's "farewell". It was nice to see family again, and Shayne actually came with me this time, so he got to meet all the new nieces and nephews as well as show off his own little boy. The pictures are backwards chronologically...this first pic is at the airport in IF as we were leaving, and the last pic is in the Anchorage airport as we were coming to Idaho...sorry.

Saying goodbye to Grandpa Pond in the Idaho Falls airport.

Grandpa Pond was able to get him to sleep without using the binky!! I was in shower, and who knows what Shayne was doing, but grandpa didn't have the binky...but as you can tell it didn't matter a whole lot. He loves his little grandbabies! :)
Shayne, Lachlan, and his Uncle Matt Pond

Four generations of Pond's: Lachlan's Great-grandpa Ron Pond, Grandpa Dana Pond, Daddy Shayne Pond, and Lachlan Pond...giving us a great smile! (We have to thank grammy Jo for the smile...she did a good job.)

Shayne's sister KayCee with her little girl PresLee, and Shayne with Lachlan. This was the first time Shayne's seen PresLee...we had fun hanging out with them for a bit.
A reversal...KayCee with Lachlan, and Shayne with PresLee
Grandpa Price playing/wrestling with Lachlan. This is what Grandpa Price does...roughs 'em up! :)
This is Maysi's little boy Ruxton "watching" Lachlan...he's so good with the babies...loves to entertain them.

Like father like son...watching sports.
Playing with Grandma Price, and looking so serious. He does this...gives no expression while you make a fool of yourself trying to get a reaction out of him. So like is daddy!

The next few are of Lachlan and his cousin Kinzie, Dezi's little girl. I just love his smiling face.

Kinzie looks so much like Dezi but with blonde hair.
My sister Dezi and her husband Trevor.
Shayne and Lachlan, hanging out.
Grammy Jo getting Lachlan dressed so we could get to Logan to be with Bowdrie in the temple. She hated that I took this pic, but I had to get one of her and Lachlan...she just loves him so much, and we love her too.
Lachlan and his cousin PresLee. KayCee bought him a glow worm, b/c PresLee has one and she loves it...so Lachlan needed one too. He does love it.
Gnawing on PresLee's arm...she was not a big fan of this. :)
Chillin' in the airport with his basketball blanket.
Self-portrait of Lachlan and me in the Seattle airport.
Shayne asleep in Seattle airport after he let me sleep for 1 1/2 hours during our layover.
My boys hanging out in the Anchorage airport at about 2am.
