“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Halloween

Our official Halloween pic from Magic Moments of our Shordy-Tiger and a Tiny-Flower.  How cute are our two little munchkins?!

Kenai & Koda...two of Shordy's friends

Can you see her little eyes peeking out?  Too cute

So, Halloween this year proved to be COLD!!  We got our first real snow-storm this afternoon/evening and that makes for a crumby Trunk-or-Treating for our munchkins.  We took our new truck (ok a used one but it's new to us) and took the dogs, b/c we now have a truck-topper.  I sat in the back with Tiny, who was a flower all bundled up, and the dogs and divied up the candy to the trunk-or-treaters at our ward Trunk-or-Treat activity.  Dad took Shordy, who was a Tiger, and got him loaded up on candy.

As you can see, Shordy was ready to go after not very long, b/c it was cold.  Oh well...it was fun while it lasted.

It'll be fun next year when we have two of them to take around.  Now we'll just hope for better weather.  :)

Fishin' with Uncle Aaron

Shayne fishing with his Uncle Aaron along some river/creek on the way to Big Bear.  Mostly Brown Trout...and not very big ones, but they didn't see anyone else and that's what it's all about.  :)

Shayne LOVED hanging out with his Uncle Aaron and fishing these small creeks.  They had a blast together.  Hope they can do it again soon...or at least again sometime.  :)

Grams & Gramps Gerth

Hanging out in the hangar with Grandma & Grandpa Gerth, and the Apache, which Shayen grew up flying in with his Grandpa

Shayne had a conference in Las Vegas and he decided to extend his trip a couple of days and go and see his Grandpa & Grandma Gerth in Highland, CA. and fish with his Uncle Aaron who lives in San Bernadino as well.

It was so nice for him to go and hang out at the hangar where he used to spend a lot of time with his Grandpa, and to just spend some time with them.

Cheerios!

It's not very often Shordy makes big messes so I have to document them when he does.  So...

Shordy decided he wanted Cheerios for breakfast one morning and so he got them out of the cupboard.  I think I told him he could have a handful to pacify him and so he carried them over to Tiny to watch his PBS show.  Well, he dropped the bag and when he picked it back up, he picked it up upside down and spilled cheerios all over Tiny in her bouncy chair.

She thought it was AWESOME!  Ok...she thought the crinkly bag her brother let her have b/c it was now empty was AWESOME!!  She was beyond ticked off at me when I took it away.  I'm pretty sure I just picked up the cheerios in her bouncy chair and put them back in the bag and we ate them for breakfast...and I let Tipz eat the ones on the floor for her breakfast.  So we all had Cheerios for breakfast!!

Pictures for Grandma's

This is probably my favorite one of them together

Yes...she's chewing on her tongue

This is my favorite of her...love the crooked little smile b/c she's chewing on her tongue

She was fascinated by her skirt...completely fascinated

Those flowers must have been really pretty  :)

She looks so skeptical here...mostly she's getting tired and is letting me know she's ready for bed

So, these pics were taken while she was still 5 months, but Shayne's Grandma Gerth wanted an updated picture of her and Shordy.

Shayne happened to be down in Vegas for a leadership conference and spent a couple of extra days at his Grandma & Grandpa Gerth's in California.  So, while he was there I took some pics and had them sent to the Walmart there for his Grandma.  She actually made the little skirt outfit for Tiny...it was so dang cute!  She sewed that pretty little skirt onto the long-sleeved onsie.

Anyway...in some of the pics my flash hadn't recharged and so it didn't go off, so I tired to edit them as best I could in Picasa, but they didn't turn out real great.  Hence the reason I need Adobe PhotoShop for Christmas.  :)

Some of the pics turned out really cute though and I think his Grandma was happy with them.  Now I need to send them to the both our mothers so they have updated pics of Shordy and Tiny.

Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose

If you've never read the book "Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose" by Dr. Seuss you'll have no idea how funny this story really is...so go read it.

Anyway...Auntie Maysi brought Shordy this book as a gift when she and my mom came up when Tiny was born.  He LOVES this book.  It's not a short book and it's not always my favorite to read when it's time to go to bed, but it gets read regularly.

Anyway, he woke up one morning and as we walked downstairs we saw this moose eating outside the window that's on the stairs.  Shordy immediately yelled, "Mom!!  It's Fidwick the Big Hearted Moose!!" (his "th" sound is an "f" sound)  I just looked at him and laughed b/c it was so funny.  So, we had to get a camera and take a picture of him b/c it was "Fidwick the big hearted moose"  And mind you, it's not just Thidwick...it's Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose.

And I'll have you know, after being at Malia's where she was able to take pictures with a camera her mom lets her use, Shordy had to take this picture.  Not too bad huh?

So...thank you Maysi, b/c now pretty much every moose he sees is Fidwick the Big Hearted Moose...or Fidwick's dad.  :)

I love how our Shordy applies what he learns to his real life.  Cracks us up!!
