This is by FAR the largest Rainbow I've ever caught. I only wish it had been on the fly...and not with the huge bit of bling in his eye. But still...that's a freakin' huge rainbow! |
Shayne purchased this fishing charger at a benefit auction for one of the ER nurses who's cabin burnt down this past summer. The guide is the guide Shayne first went out with when his dad brought him up here for the first time. Steve McClure, and he does a great job.
So, Shayne & I went out for Silvers. Jeannette Pugh watch the kids, and even took on Sweet Pea who has never really taken a bottle. Thank you to her!
It was a nice big date for Shayne & I. We haven't done much by ourselves in awhile...that happens when you have a nursing baby.
This was an awesome day. I caught my limit of Silvers before Shayne did...yeah for me. And...I caught a HUGE Rainbow. I think it was 28"-29", but unfortunately had a big old piece of bling in his eye. He was seriously so big that we thought it was a Silver when it first came out of the water...but then I immediately notice that he has a little more color than a Silver does. I was pretty amazed...and I accidentally dropped him on the boat when Steve was handing him to me to take a pic. Whoops. :) So wish I could catch that fish on the fly!!!
Anyway...this was a very nice day. It was nice for Shayne & I to spend some time together. Thanks so much to Jeannette who took on a 4 month old baby, who didn't end up taking a bottle and was a hungry little monster when I got home. It was very much appreciated!!
