“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Birthday Girl!!

Our birthday girl, in her new birthday outfit.  I didn't get a very good pic of her b/c she refused to hold still.  She's loving this walking thing.

The flower birthday and smash cake I made for the Tiny Girl

Birthday loot

So cute...the boys holding hands.  Colton & Brayden

Colton, Malia, and Brayden

Shordy bailing off the snow machine

Let the fun begin!!  I love her funny little smile here.

See her her baby doll from the Tuia's?  She spent 5 minutes grabbing and looking at it and gibbering to it.  So cute!

See Shordy opening the present he picked out for her?  I guess since he picked it out he could open it huh?

And then he proceeded to play with it.  She never actually saw this present.  Just heard it being played by her big brother.

Peeking under the wrapping paper to see her present.  Silly girl.

Yeah!  Another baby doll!  This is Stella.  I think I love the doll more than Tiny does, but it could be a toss up.  :)

Awww....lovin' on Stella.  She has a magnetic binky that is too fun.  The kids loved it too.

And of course...a bat and ball from dad.  Pink for his Tiny Girl!

And her last toy that all the kids unwrapped for her.  You can see them in the previous pics unwrapping it.   So funny.  She didn't even look at it.  Was busy lovin' on Stella.

Testin' out the birthday cake.

Love her excitement over the cake and candle.

Not loving her attempting to grab the flame!  She did not get a hold of it, I stopped her just in time.

All the kids helping her blow out the candle.  L-R: Shordy, Xander, Malia, Zach, and Tyler

Most of the rest of the pics are her demolishing and eating her own smash cake...she loved it!

I love her blue eyes...I think the bright pink makes them look bluer...don't you think?  :)

Bad pic, but funny.  Tyler had dropped his cupcake when his hat fell in front of his face.  The next pic shows his solution to the problem.  :)

Our smiley birthday girl!

The kids eating their cupcakes outside on the deck...that pink frosting was multiplying EVERYWHERE!!  Thankfully it comes out of clothes nicely after soaking in Oxyclean for 24 hours.  :)

Signing "All Done!"

Playing with dad.  He would yell and she would mimic him and yell back.  They did this for 2-3 minutes.

So at 8:26 am our Miracle Baby #2, Tiny Girl, turned One!!  She smiled at me in the hospital that first day (honestly & seriously smiling)...and hasn't stopped smiling since.  :)

We cannot believe how fast the past year has gone.  We both feel like with Shordy the first year went by so much slower.  Maybe it's because he was so easy going and just chill.  Not the case with Tiny.  This girl has been wiggling and on the move since the day she was born.  However, regardless of how much she's wiggling, moving, and wearing her parents out, she is such a smiley happy girl.  She is our little ray of sunshine...every day.

She's accomplished a lot in the past year.

She's now walking.  And really started walking a little more than crawling on her birthday.  Up to this point she was usually crawling more than walking.  But not after today!  She can get wherever she wants to get on her own two feet.

She's finally starting to get some hair...not quite enough to put into cute little pig-tails yet, but it's definitely getting there.  And, it's coming in with some cute curls...I'm so excited!!

She's beginning to use some sign language.  She's been consistently signing, "All Done!" while saying "ya-ya-ya-ya-ya" of course with a big grin (she does everything with a big grin).  She's also just started to sign, "more" and "milk".

She loves to eat...but not to be fed.  She loves feeding herself, and is all about squishing the food around to learn about its texture.  She eats pretty much everything with no real food dislikes, which is so nice compared to her somewhat picky older brother.

She already loves to pick-on or bug her big brother.  But, he's a pretty darn good big brother and doesn't get too upset at her.  Mostly she just wants in on whatever he's playing.  I keep telling him to get used to it...but I'm not sure that's gonna happen.  ;)

She has both her grandpa's wrapped around her little finger...and her dad completely smitten with her smile, and engaging personality.  Grandma's love her too...

She's started wanting to share whatever she has in her hand.  Whether it's her food, water, crackers, toys...whatever.  She loves to hand it to you and watch you say thank-you, give it back to her, so she can give it to you again.  All with a big smile on her face...have I mentioned she does everything with a big smile?  :)

We actually spent the day in Anchorage at the Tuia's.  Dad had a Resuscitation Conference this weekend, so we all went up and stayed.  It was a little crazy with 3 babies, and 3 other kids 4 and under...but always fun.

Kaye made up some Navajo Tacos for us to eat, and I made the birthday cake.  May I just make a recommendation?  Don't put more than a small dab of hot pink gel food coloring in the frosting...it makes for very bright frosting that multiplies when you aren't looking and gets all over EVERYTHING!!  You should have seen my hands...they were hot-pink.  I'm not the greatest cake decorator.  I'll leave it at that.  :)

However, for my first time decorating a cake, I think I did ok.  It was a flower cake, made with big cupcakes, and I thought it was pretty cute.  I made a lot of little mental notes about what and what-not to do on the next birthday cake.  "Not...put the frosting in the frosting bag BEFORE putting in the tip."  Oh well...the hot pink color on my hands will eventually wear off...right?  :)

We invited Ty & Liz and their 2 boys over.  Liz had to work, but Ty brought over the boys and also brought Shayne's old roommate, Jeff.  So, it was fun to see him.

The kids had a blast opening presents, I mean helping Tiny open presents, sing "Happy Birthday", blow out candles, and eat cupcakes on the deck outside...and then proceed to get pink all over everything, but with a coating of dirt on top of it from playing in the dirt pile out side.  They were filthy...means they had fun right?  :)

Over-all it was a very good day for our Tiny Girl.  I was definitely a bit nostalgic thinking about the day she was born.  I remember how tiny she was at 6lbs14oz, but how wiggly and sweet she was.  She was such a good baby...and ate like a champ!  I miss that tiny little newborn baby girl...but I absolutely LOVE this 1-year old Tiny girl.  I wondered how I could love another child as much as I loved my first...but I definitely do...and I know her Daddy does too.

Happy Birthday Tiny Girl!!

We love you!!!

What a fun birthday! Congrats to the cutie. It was fun to see you and visit with you and your family a few weeks ago. Your little family is adorable. Take care.
