“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

My B'Day

Shordy sharing his toast w/o me even asking him to.  What better B-day present can I get than that?  :)

My beautiful family with the surprise b'day cake Shayne got me.  How awesome is that?!

This was a Cold Stone Mint Oreo ice cream cake!  Yum!!  Then Shayne went to a little shop here and got me the little frog collectible for the top.  I have a few of this lady's little figurines and he gets me a new one every year.  So cute!

Me with my beautiful children...and my b'day presents(the hat and jacket...love them!)

Tiny is made she isn't getting to try the cake.  :)

So...we let her try it.  :)

She wanted more...of course.  :)

I had such a great birthday!  I had a friend watch my kids while I went and had a manicure done and then I came home thinking I was going to be making my own birthday cake...b/c I certain 3 year old knows we have to have birthday cakes.  But...I was pleasantly surprised to find Shayne already home with the BEST birthday cake EVER!!  He had a cake, cards, and presents sitting there ready for me to open when I got home from my appointment.  It was awesome!

The kids loved the candles, and of course Shordy helped me blow out the candles...and lick the frosting off the cake.  :)

Then Shayne had gotten a babysitter and took me out to dinner and a movie.  Yeah for "The Hunger Games"!

What a great birthday!  I may not like being 36 (it's so much closer to 40 than 35!), but I loved having such a special day to pamper myself and spend with my kids...and with my very bestest friend ever!

DQ with Friends

Shordy and Agent playing with his cars...why did I bring them to the restaurant?

Maggie and Tiny hanging out like good little girls.

So, our Dairy Queen burned down a few months ago...it was slightly suspicious.  Anyway, it had been out of commission and had finally opened up a couple of weeks ago.  So, we went as a family one night and had dinner with ice cream and then I decided I needed to get out of the house, b/c I'm so dang tired of the snow, and invited my friend Kim to join me.  I just wanted to get some ice cream and I knew she could use some out of the house time too.

So, she brought Agent and Maggie.  Maggie's twin, Copper, was at home asleep.  So, we just hung out and watched our kids get completely messy with ice cream, and try and climb over the partitions separating us and the poor other patrons trying to enjoy their ice cream.  :)

It's nice to be able to get out with friends once in awhile.  However, the prices at DQ make me realize why I didn't really go there before.  Sheesh!  I can get ice cream at the grocery store, right?

Oh ya...it's about the company...and the fact I'm getting out of the house!

Batting Practice

Playin' ball with dad

See dad giving some instruction?

So he had on his baseball cap, which he has to have on when he plays baseball, but then he decided he needed a hard hat, like they use when baseball players are up to bat.  So, he got his bike helmet.  How funny is that?!

Dad giving some more instructions.

This pic was taken later that night.  His Great-Grandma Gerth made him a Thomas the Train quilt, which he LOVED, and his Grammy Pond got him these new Thomas the Train PJ's.  Perfect combo!!

So what do you do when there's still 4 feet of snow outside and baseball spring training has started?

You play baseball in the house of course!!

Shayne started playing ball with him a long time ago and started him hitting left-handed from the very beginning.  Now, he's starting to work a little more on his technique and the technical part of batting.  If Shordy wasn't having so much fun, I might think it was a little much for a 3 year old, but he seriously LOVES playing ball with his dad and is a really good listener.

I see days like this and I see Shayne's dreams coming true.

Playing baseball with his son...what more could he ask for?

Easter

Checking out what the Easter Bunny brought.

Pretty excited about finding those eggs.

Finding her first egg.  Yeah!

Our poor sick baby girl...still feeling under the weather.

Amazing how he doesn't see the eggs in plain sight...maybe it's b/c his playroom is so clean?  Ha!

He thinks the basketball egg is pretty darn cool.

Price family tradition...you have to eat a boiled Easter egg before you can eat any candy.  Maysi and I talked about this about a week later and how I used to eat her yolks.  :)

The Easter baskets I made that I'm so proud of.

My handsome boys!  In orange, of course.  :)

She found one of her eggs and managed to break it open to get the crackers inside...I know no treats, what's up with that?  She knows no different right?

Easter was so much fun this year...except for the sick little girl we had.  But, it was fun having Shordy be so excited about it.  He was totally into it and so that makes it fun for his dad & I.

The Easter Bunny color coordinated their eggs, to make sure Tiny didn't get some small candy she'd choke on.  She got pink and yellow eggs with crackers and yogurt bites inside. and Shordy got the rest with real Easter candy.  He was very good about not picking up her eggs, he's such a good boy.  It was funny how he wouldn't see the eggs that were in plain sight.  In fact, there are still eggs sitting in plants that he has yet to find.  Kinda cracks me up...but makes it fun for him when he does finally see them.  I'm thinking that next year he won't have that sort of time b/c Tiny girl here is gonna be racing him for the eggs.  :)

I made their Easter baskets this year and I'm pretty proud of them.  I found the pattern online and then embroidered their names with the sewing machine Shayne's Grandma Gerth gave me, which is awesome!  I'm just usually too scared to use the embroidery arm, b/c I jammed it the last time I used it.  But, I used it without a problem and I think they turned out GREAT!!

It was nice not having early church so he could find his eggs and eat and then get dressed up with his new tie. I was really sad b/c I couldn't dress up my pretty little girl in her new Easter dress her Grammy Pond made her.  But her fever had just finally broke late the night before so we decided it was too soon to take her to church.  She also still didn't feel great.  Still just wanted to be held most of the time, which is a true sign she isn't feeling well.

So, Shayne and Shordy dressed in their new ties and went to church.  While they were there I recognized that Tiny broke out into a rash that continued to spread throughout the afternoon on her chest, back and face.  Yup...she had Roseola.  A very classic case of it in fact.  It was just nice to know that the rash was the very last stage and she should start feeling better very soon.

So, it was a good day...minus our sick little girl, but that's soon to be over.  It's so much fun having someone who's so excited about holidays like this.  Way better than when it was just the two of us!  :)

Easter Eggs

Woo Hoo!!  Coloring Easter Eggs.  He totally remembered doing this from last year.

Playing with his sick baby sister while the eggs were sitting in the dye.

You know this little girl is sick when she wants to just lay on your chest or sit in your lap.  But even though she wasn't feel well, Daddy was loving being able to just sit and snuggle with his Tiny girl.  He loves to snuggle with his kids.

All of our eggs.  We used crayons and drew on them before we colored them.

Shayne & I made one for each other.  So cute.  :)

Forever and a week...our sweet "motto".

I made one for Shordy

And Tiny

Dad did the same thing.

So Shordy loved coloring his Easter Eggs, and he remembered from doing it last year, which was pretty impressive.

We colored on the eggs before putting them in the dye and that was fun to see what dad was doing and to keep mine a secret from him until it was done being colored.  So even dad took part. :)

Mostly he spent time snuggling with our sick Tiny girl who was still running quite the fever.  Not as bad as the day before, but definitely not better.  She just laid on her daddy's chest for quite awhile, which he wasn't complaining about.

Anyway...we had fun coloring eggs.  Fun family activity!!
