“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Idaho - April 27th-May4th

Braylee's b'day celebration...she's the big #4!

This is the best pic I could get of all three yearlings.  Hal, Kallen, and Tiny...too bad I only got the top of her head before the other two ran off.  Hal was born in January, Kallen in March, and Tiny in May.  Won't she have fun when she gets older to have 2 boy cousins to play with?  I hope anyway...

Gavin, Braylee, Holdan, and Shordy playing with the bubble machine in the playhouse b/c it was too windy to play with them out on the lawn.

At my mom's Community Choir Concert in the 2nd&5th Ward chapel.  Notice that the 3 of us with "Yearlings" are in the back.  :)

Addler, Austin, Maysi, and Kade enjoying the concert...Maysi was a jerk and left her baby with Austin's mom, so she could just enjoy the show.  :)

This is the best pic I could get.  My mom is part of the group in black that is standing and singing.  She's in the very back row, second from the left...with the white hair.  She did a great job!

Tiny playing with Keela...she loved "throwing" things for her to catch.  Completely entertained her!

Nana with Zane, Tiny, and Hal

Grandpa with Zane and Tiny

Great Grandma Woodbury with Tiny at Taggert's baby blessing dinner we had at Maysi's.

Playing with Keela again...notice Shordy watching his show.

Grandpa trying to play cars with Shordy...but he wasn't a huge fan of the fact Grandpa wasn't playing with them right.

Shordy playing with Braylee...before he slid off that huge tree trunk and scraped his back

This was just after he scraped his back and was originally crying and coming back to the house, but decided it was more fun to stay and play with Braylee

This was the scrape I didn't see until he was getting ready for bed that evening.  Pretty tough little boy to just keep on playing.

These are the cow masks he made at Story Time at the Library with Braylee.  How cute are they?!

Headed out to catch a horse with Nana

Braylee and Shordy...best cousins (at least when Holdan's not around.  :))

Braylee, Me, and Shordy going for a ride on Zan

Kade showing up on his motorcycle to drop off Gavin and Kallen for us to watch...who needs carseats?!

Tiny and Me on Soda Pop

Nana pushing Kallen and Tiny in the car.  They actually stayed in there for quite awhile...I was impressed.

Playing with a doll for the first time.  She LOVED it!  Should have seen her talking to it and looking at it...so dang cute!  Gonna have to get one for her birthday for sure!

Dezi and baby Statlyn in the NICU...so glad we got to stop and see this miracle baby.

Tiny chillin' in Addler's sunglasses on our girl's day out!

Ashley, Maysi, Dezi, Mom, and I showing off our beautiful toes after our pedicure in Ogden...after seeing Dezi's baby in the NICU.

Kade in the community musical "The Man of La Mancha", he was cast as Sancho...Don Quixote's side kick.  Sorry it's not rotated

He was seriously so funny as Sancho...he did a GREAT job!

Tiny playing in the kids play area at the Seattle Airport...thank heavens for that place when you have a long layover.  No she's not walking quite yet...but getting very close.

We spent our second week on our Idaho visit in Malad.  I got there on the 26th and were there until May 4th.  The weather wasn't quite as nice as it had been in Ririe, but it was still sunny and for that I was happy.

Braylee, one of the five 4-year olds had a birthday on the 27th and we got to help her celebrate.

Tiny started getting 3 molars all at the same time.  She got her first one at the end of March...but all three molars at once...seriously?  Good thing teething isn't a big deal for her...I almost never know she's teething until she starts drooling and see the swollen bumps.  She doesn't fever, or whine, or get any other symptoms other than drooling.  Yeah for me!

We were also lucky enough to be able to be part of Taggert's baby blessing.  He was born on April 1st four weeks early.  His cousin, Statlyn was born on April 2nd, nine week early.  I'll talk about him in a minute.  Anyway...Taggert was blessed while we were there and it was so nice to be part of a family event.  My Grandma and Grandpa Woodbury came for the blessing so I got to see them as well.  Taggert is such a sweet little baby boy and his four older brothers absolutely adore him.  I don't think that baby spends very much time not being held.

On Wednesday the 2nd of May, Ashley, Maysi, Mom & I with Taggert and Tiny went to Ogden to see Dezi and her baby boy, Statlyn, who was in the NICU.  It was his one-month birthday but he was still 4-5 weeks from his actual due date.  We were all able to go, one at a time, into the NICU to hold him.  I actually got to feed him a little bit of his bottle.  What a tiny little boy!  He was one sick little boy though, and they weren't sure he was going to make it.  He got pneumonia among another infection and the Dr's. and respiratory therapists we more than a little worried about him.  He was the sickest baby in the NICU at the time.  But Dezi had an amazing attitude and was super strong and focused on getting her baby boy healthy and home eventually.  After we saw Statlyn we all went to lunch and then got a pedicure done there in Ogden.  It was so fun to hang out with my sisters and do something fun like that.  I wish Shancy could have come, but she had come earlier when I first got to Malad and spent a couple of days with me then.  We got to see her two boys, Hal and Zane and that was fun.

While we were in the hospital taking turns seeing Statlyn, Tiny decided to take a few steps.  4-5 steps to be exact which is the most steps she's taken in a row.  She was pretty darn proud of herself.  :)

On Thursday the 3rd, we caught horses and I team-roped with dad.  I didn't do as great as I have done before, but I did ok seeing how I only rope about once a year.  :)  We of course had to catch Zan, the stud horse, and take the kids for a ride.  He's the best kid-horse...crazy he's a stud.  :)

That night I was able to attend Kade's dress rehearsal for the musical "The Man of La Mancha".  It's a community play group that puts it on and he was cast as Sancho, Don Quixote's side kick.  He's the comic relief...and Kade did a great job!  I really laughed and was impressed at how well they all did.  I'm glad I got to see it.

I flew out the next night out of Boise, so Mom and Dad drove us over there.  I had a fairly long lay over in Seattle so we spent some time in the kids play area, which I'm so grateful for when you have to little kids that need to burn off some energy so they'll sleep on the plane ride back...and sleep they did!  They seriously both crashed as soon as the plane started moving and didn't wake up until we landed I had to wake them up to get off the plane.  While it's hard on my to hold still for 3 1/2 hours on a plane, I was grateful they were quiet and slept.

So...that' was our trip to Idaho.  It's always hard to leave Shayne for 2 weeks, but I definitely need and enjoy the sunshine.  I also love that my kids get to spend time with grandparents and cousins.  Shordy had a blast in Malad playing with Braylee, Holdan, and Zane and Tiny loved spending time with her Nana and Grandpa Price.  Tiny has the Grandpa Price wrapped around her little finger too...it melted his heart every time she would look up at him and smile...and she did it quite a bit.  :)  It's always a little crazy at my mom's house when we go b/c of all the cousins, but that's how I grew up with lots of cousins so I just love it!

Someday we'll be closer so we can take advantage of those cousin moments more often.
