Enjoying the cake |
We have a 4 year old boy! Cannot believe how fast 4 years has flown by. I honestly still remember very vividly remember the first moment he cried and how fast my heart expanded to love unconditionally this baby boy. He was such a snuggily baby and still loves to give hugs and sit with you and watch his favorite movie or show or read a book.
This little boy is such a smart little dude! He's been very much into spelling things and is starting to read the things he reads, so we've started teaching him to read. It's been fun to watch him learn and for his world to open up. He LOVES dinosaurs and the show "Dinosaur Train" on PBS. He talks about all the dinosaurs he's learned about, what time period they are, if they are herbivores, omnivores, if they have crests, or spikes, etc. He loves them. :) He's very inquisitive and asks lots and lots of questions about everything. From what he sees outside, to on the television, to what he hears in conversation. He's pretty observant. In this process of being observant, he comes up with some very funny little phrases that keep up pretty entertained.
He still loves "Cars" and has lots of the characters hence Mac and somewhere to hold all his cars. He's also started to be more into dressing up, mostly as a super hero. :) He is very imaginative and loves to play on his own creating all sorts of fun games. He's very verbal and speaks all his imaginative play out loud...sometime to his mother's chagrin. :)
He's a VERY good big brother, and keeps an eye out for his baby sister all the time. He loves to give her hugs and unless she's messing with his toys or particular "game" he thinks she's a pretty cool sister. However, if she messes with the toys he's playing with at the time he comes a little bit unglued and is not a fan of that little sister. :)
He is a little bit OCD about certain things and likes things done a certain way...that could be my fault. :) He's not too bad...but he does have some OCD things like his Mamma. :) He's a little bit of picky eater, but has gotten better in the past year. He still does NOT like rice or potatoes or anything that is mixed...like soups or casseroles. But he LOVES sweet potatoes, salmon, pizza, and pretty much any fruit or vegetable.
I've only put a few things about him here, but will post some of his funny phrases later. I just wanted to remember some things about him at this age.
I also want him to know how much we love him! He is a very special little boy that we prayed for very hard and worked very hard to have in our family. So, when Heavenly Father blessed us with this little spirit, I knew he was very special and he has been. He amazes us everyday, and we thank our Heavenly Father every single day for sending him to our home.
Happy 4th Birthday Shordy!!
