“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

March 30-31st - Malad

My dad likes to take his grand kids out and do chores. So, this particular morning, The Bug was whining about going outside, but I wasn't ready. So, Grandpa took him out to do chores. The Bug got to ride in the tractor with him, and he LOVED it!! Now, every time he sees a tractor or mostly pictures of tractors, he signs "grandpa" and says, "bump pa" or "gump pa". You can just see his HUGE smile. He just had fun even wandering around the farm yard while grandpa was feeding animals.

The other pic is of my and my nephew Ruxton riding horses. Rux is 5 years old and such a little cowboy. He's also a very sweet boy who has a tendency to be a little bit shy, but is very much coming out of his shell. Anyway, he was so excited for The Bug and I to come visit. The first day I was over at his house he invited me to come back and ride his horses with him. I promised him I would. Well, the weather was pretty crumby the days I was there, but he was so set on riding I couldn't disappoint him. So, the day before I left, we headed over to Maysi's to ride. I was all bundled up, b/c it really wasn't warm. Maysi helped catch and saddle the horses, and then off Rux and I went up the dirt road to check on the cattle in the field. I was on Bronco (their little Mustang cross whom they all love), and Rux was on Duster, Maysi's horse from my parents. He was a complete chatter box the entire ride. He told me all kinds of stories. It was pretty entertaining. We rode for about 45 minutes to an hour total. It was pretty fun. Hopefully when we go down this summer, it'll be warmer and Rux and I can ride for awhile longer. Thanks for the invite to ride Ruxton!!

The last pics are of my dad's b-day cake. His b-day was on the 30th, but he had to drive his truck to pick up a load so wasn't there that night. But, mom made the token chocolate fudge cake...it's my dad's favorite...and we sang to him the next night. The Bug was much more ok with the candles this time than he was with his own birthday cake. He even tried to blow out the candles.

So fun to be with family!
