“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Yardwork - April 19th

Bug, like most normal toddlers, LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to be outside. Shayne has been doing quite a bit of yard work lately now the snow is finally gone. So, when he goes out he takes The Bug with him.

We had a tree fall in our yard in November, and even though we had the tree cut up and taken off the yard shortly after it fell, there were still lots of little branches that got covered with snow before we got them picked up. So, Shayne was cleaning up all these little branches and Bug thought he would help dad put them in the back of the truck. It was so dang cute!!

His attention span is short and he was quickly distracted by his "new" trike we got from one of Shayne's co-workers. He knows how to go backwards, but his little legs are too short to touch the pedals and he hasn't figured out how to walk it forward yet. So, now he just yells at me to push him around. Lovely.

These pics were taken April 19th and you can still see snow on our yard. We had some ginormous mud puddles in our yard b/c of the melting, and of course The Bug found them. I've decided little boys are magnetized to mud puddles...seriously. It was a good thing he had his yellow galoshes on, b/c as you can tell from the bottom of his pants, he did a fair amount of "exploring" in the mud puddles. We are now more careful to tuck his pants INSIDE his boots when we take him outside. Thankfully the puddles didn't last long in the yard.

We are so glad it's started to warm up here enough to go and play outside without freezing after about 20 minutes. We have yet to see a whole lot of sun...it's mostly been overcast and sprinkling with rain...but at least we have leaves finally!! Yes...as of today all of the trees look green with little leaves instead of a dead brownish color.

Yeah for spring!!
