“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Picky Eater??

So, being a first time mother I'm paranoid about all sorts of things. One of those "things" is what The Bug chooses to eat. It seriously stresses me out that he doesn't eat everything I put in front of him. He eats better for Shayne and friends who have watched him. But, for me he won't eat any pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, very little meat, and a few other things.

However, when I step back and really think about what he eats everyday, I realize I'm actually VERY lucky he likes the things he does. Just so I remember how well he really does eat here's yesterday's menu:

Breakfast: Old Fashion Oatmeal with some butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. And organic milk

Snacks: Cheese stick, grapes, apple slices, organic animal crackers, and half of a chocolate chip cookie.

Lunch: Organic apple sauce, 1/4 salmon sandwich on whole wheat bread (like tuna, but with our bottled salmon)

Snack: (Wasn't planning on this meal, but he wanted to eat with dad when he woke up) Whole wheat (flour I ground myself :) ) oatmeal pancakes with vanilla syrup.

Supper: Wouldn't eat the chicken biscuit roll with cream cheese sauce. But, ate the grilled salmon dipped in plain organic yogurt with cooked carrots (also dipped in yogurt).

Finish up with a small cup of organic milk before going to bed.

So, really? When I read this I think to myself, "Self...what are you worrying about?! This kid eats better than you do!! Stop being such a freak."

I'm really am lucky he does like such healthy things...and I'm so lucky we live in a place where we have so much wild Salmon available for us to eat.

And...I am a bit of a freak.

my kids raved about the oatmeal pancakes (and also claim that you have softer t.p.) they love the dogs that share their birth yrs, and most importantly they love you and bug. as do i, thanks again for watching them:) and yes, you are a bit freaky. embrace it.

Wow, if my toddler ever ate that great I would jump for joy! I am lucky if mine eats one good meal a day. Count yourself lucky! Most of our meals end up overboard...

Well all I can say is that it's a dang good thing he eats fish. If not it would be like getting married to a beef rancher and you don't like to eat beef!!!.......hum....wait a second! No wonder my father inlaw is always trying to push a stake down me!! Don't stress believe me potty training is coming up...THAT is a reason to stress!!!
