This was taken just after church...The Bug fell asleep in the car, so he was already in bed for a nap. And Shayne was trying to get started on a paella for his parents, so wasn't interested in smiling for a pic. Not our best picture by far, but I wanted to post a pic of our Sweet Pea w/ her parents on her blessing day.
I took these two pics when she was just over 10 days old. My sister, Dezi, crocheted the little flowers, and diaper cover. It is so dang cute. I have more pics, but will post them later. Just wanted to post these two sweet ones, b/c of her special day.
I'm pretty sure Shayne would have to agree this Father's Day is the best one yet.
Today we blessed our little Sweet Pea.
Shayne's dad, Dana, was able to stand in the circle and be with Shayne while he gave a sweet blessing to our Sweet Pea.
Jared Tuia and Dr. Anderson were also in the Priesthood circle, along with our Bishop Massey, Bro. Carlson (2nd counselor).
Her pink/white blanket was made by her Grandma Pond (or Gammy). Her little blessing dress was crocheted by Shayne's Grandma Pond. She crocheted the little white/pink daisies, and then his Aunt Marietta put them together for her dress. Then, Shayne's mom, Jonette, sewed a little white slip w/ lace to go under it. Then...I made her some little white slippers and Jonette and I sewed the little rosette's to go on the shoes and on her little head-band. We were up until 1:20 last night to make sure everything was all put together. We stayed up that late only to have her little shoes fall off as Shayne was taking her up to bless her, so he put them in his pocket right before he blessed her, and then her head-band came off just as he finished. The little rosette on her head-band came off all together during Sunday school. But...we put everything back on to take pics when we got home. :) What a mother will do to make sure her little girl looks her best. :) But...everything she had on was hand made, and by her Great-Grandma, Great Aunt, Grandma, and her Mommy. So there was A LOT of love put into her little outfit.
What a wonderful day it has been. And when we think about what Father's Day was like last year, it makes it even more special. Last year on Father's Day we learned we were not pregnant after going through a fresh IVF cycle. It was very devastating and was an incredibly difficult day for us.
So...we are even more thankful this year to have the opportunity to bless our little "Miracle" Sweet Pea. Amazing how much love she has brought into our home. We are so blessed to have her forever in our family.
Shayne did a wonderful job of blessing her...our family is so blessed to have such a wonderful father/husband to lead and protect us.
We love him very very much!!
