“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

I'm a Cowboy!

The National Finals Rodeo is going on right now, and we've been watching every night.  The first night, Mr. Shordy McGoo got his stick-horse, his bike helmet, and his sword and proceeded to run around telling me he was a cowboy.  The poor kid had to improvise.

So, I dug out a the straw cowboy hat a friend got for me in Hawaii, which he had sorta destroyed previously so he could at least have a cowboy hat.

Well...almost every night the NFR was on he proceeded to get his cowboy hat and sometimes his stick horse, and sometimes a rope of some form...usually a lace from his lacing activities.

This night he had on his cowboy hat and told me "I'm a cowboy mom!"  I wish I had taken pics of the other nights, but this will have to do.

The other pics of he and his baby sister playing on the floor.  She's gotten very good at sitting up and reaching for things.  Much to the chagrin of her brother when he's building towers with some blocks...like in the above pics.

Me taking her pic was distracting her so he could build a tall tower.

I love her little smile.

I love his funny personality.

I love my kids.
