Shayne & I decided to leave The Bug with Nana & Papa for a couple of days and do a little scouting trip of Wyoming and Montana. We both know we aren't going to be in Alaska forever, so thought it would be a good opportunity to drive to some places we would consider moving and check out the hospitals in each of those areas. The trip was good for both Shayne & I to spend some much needed time alone given the hard couple of weeks we had had, and it was even better for The Bug to spend some much needed grandparent time.
The trip was fun and fairly uneventful. We drove down to Utah and up through Wyoming, then up and into south/western Montana. We some some really ugly places (Rocksprings, Wy...ugh), and some really gorgeous places (Cody, Wy and Bozeman, Mt). We are encouraged by some of the areas we saw, and know better now where we would prefer to move to. I love having a husband who can almost pick and choose where he wants to live b/c his job is pretty much always in demand.
...I digress, sorry...
However, the most interesting thing we saw was on the freeway. I'm sure pretty much everyone in the Lower 48, and especially the Idaho/Montana/Wyoming/Utah area have seen this before, but this was a first for Shayne & I.
We all know how windy it is in Wyoming, and we all know how great it is to tap into that wind and create power from windmills. But do you know how freakin' huge those arms are on those windmills? This was one of a few we saw on the drive. I HAD to take a pic of it, b/c it was so ginormous!
Laugh if you must...but I was amazed.
And...can I just say...I LOVE freeways. I miss them immensely up here. Immensely doesn't even begin to describe how much I miss them...and my cruise control.

Yes it is ugly around here. Ever the fight why I don't want to live here my whole life but Lyman is a far cry better than ROCK SPRINGS!!!! The windmills are crazy I remember the first time I saw one on the freeway too. Bowd said one time on his trip here at night that they looked like aliens with the red blinking light!
