These are some pics from the day our little Sweet Pea was born.
I've had some questions as how to pronounce her name from the spelling, so here's a clarification. It's spelled Zaydri, and pronounced Zay-dree. Does that make sense? But...from here on out she'll be referred to on the blog as Sweet Pea...at least for now. If we find another nickname that suits her better it might change, but for now she is our little Sweet Pea.
I was so lucky to have my mom and sister, Maysi, come up and help out with things. They are in charge of The Bug while we are in the hospital. So, they brought him in about noon to see his new baby sister. I already posted the pic of him kissing her on the head, but I loved the pic of him kissing her toes as well. I also loved the pics of my mom and Maysi holding her...they both love the newborn stage.
I'm also posting pics of her just minutes after she was born. You can see her skinny little hips on the one pic just after they weighed her. I was concerned she would be tongue-tied like her brother, but you can see from a couple of those pics, she was definitely NOT tongue-tied. In fact, she was sucking around like that when I finally got to hold her, and she spent no time at all getting latched on. She was a pro...unlike her brother.
I had to lay flat for awhile during my recovery. I didn't respond as well this time to the spinal as I did with The Bug. I had a drop in blood pressure, and had some nausea and was numb almost from my collar bone to my toes...which is a little more than they like. So...I couldn't sit up and snuggle with her as soon as I'd like, but I recovered fast. I was able to move my toes and feet within and hour or so after the procedure, so that was good. Over-all though it was a pretty uneventful c-section which I'm grateful for.
Anyway...these are just pics from our Sweet Pea's first day...her birthday.

Congrats Pepper! I'm so excited for you. She is adorable and I can see a lot of your son in her. You guys sure make cute babies. I'm glad you got another miracle. Hoping your recovery is swift and that you get a little sleep in the near future.
