“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Shayne's Camera - Ririe and Fish Porn

Shayne fishing a blue-gill bass fishing pond with Aaron Bowman about 2 hours after he got off the plane.

Shordy and PresLee playing with a drum at the Mountain Man Rendezvous not far from the Pond Family Cabin.

Papa Pond & Sweet Pea

Papa Pond's water truck in South Dakota...on the kamikaze run the boys did over there.

Fishing with Dustin

The Bug holding the caterpillar his Uncle Dust gave him.

Some beautiful scenery

Beautiful Brown Trout

Fishing the Madison River with Dana, Dustin, Shayne, and distant cousin Curtis Brown who guides on the Madison.  Shayne threw a hopper on the far bank and hooked into this 18 1/2" Brown while attempting to navigate and land the fish in the pontoon.  But, he managed to land it...and got a great pic!

So, only 3 people could fit in Curtis' boat, so one person had to float in the pontoon boat...Shayne and Dustin traded off.

Shayne with his Papa and Grandma Pond, Sweet Pea, and Bug (who had just been woken up after falling asleep in the car).

I should let Shayne publish this post, seeing how it's full of pics of fish I don't know all the stories about.  Needless to say, he had a really great time fishing with his Dad and brother Dustin.  So much in fact, they saw way more of him than his kids or I did.  He spent a couple of different nights at the cabin after we had already come back to Ririe so he could fish in West Yellowstone and some different rivers in Montana with Dustin and his Dad.

It was a much needed vacation for him, so I'm glad he got a bunch of fishing in, b/c he hasn't had a chance to do much in Alaska.  Having a new baby kinda slows you down in that department.

Maybe I'll have him narrate this later...just so he can journal some of the great fishing he was able to do.
