Grammy walking around w/ The Bug. Notice she was still dry...it didn't last much longer. |
See how soaked she is? He was a little annoyed he had to take a pic. |
See Grammy at the top...she had to push him down with her foot a few times before he started going on his own. She's getting soaked as she stood there...such a good grandma. |
Falling asleep eating ice cream. |
Grammy and Sweet Pea chillin' at the splash park |
I tried to get a pic of him running around the park...but he was too fast. |
He found this little shark on the ground and seriously loved it, and played with it at the bottom of the big slide for like 20 minutes. Was too funny. |
Riding the Appaloosa horse on the carousel. He loved it. His form's not so good...gotta get those feet in front of him. :) |
Shayne, The Bug, and Sweet Pea with Great-Grandma & Grandpa Pond |
Auntie Tayler w/ Sweet Pea and The Bug the day she left for college...she moved into her dorm the next day and started school at Boise State University the next Monday. So excited for her! |
Playing w/ Oakley and the cat. Good day outside. |
We drove back to Ririe from the Cabin on Wednesday afternoon and stayed until the following Tuesday.
Shayne spent most of that time fishing with his brother, Dustin, and his dad. He has lots of pics of his fishing adventures, but I haven't uploaded those pics from his camera yet.
We spent that time enjoying the hot weather. I seriously loved being able to put shorts and a t-shirt on my boy and just let him run around outside w/o shoes. And...to put cute little summer outfits on a baby girl was so fun.
On a couple of the days we were there, Jonette, the kids, and I went to the funnest splash park in Rexburg. It's the perfect thing for younger kids, and it was totally free! They even had an old carousel that had been restored there for the kids to ride on for only $1. The Bug LOVED all of it. Well...it took him a bit to get used to all the splashing water.
Grammy was the best grandma and took him through it all the first couple of times getting soaked herself. It was pretty funny watching her actually go down the big slide the first time. I sat w/ Sweet Pea and took pics. While I was taking pics of this awesome grandma playing with her grandson, a couple of moms, who didn't know I knew her, commented on the very dedicated grandma she was. The Bug was so glad to have her there, but thankfully for her, he got used to the water and ended up running around by himself. He played so hard for almost 2 hours before he got a little cold and wanted to get dry.
After getting dry we went to Neilson's Frozen Custard and got some yummy ice cream! They had one of these in St. George, so I was so excited to get some in Rexburg. I got a cone for The Bug, but he played so hard he fell asleep eating his ice cream. The next time we went to the splash park we got ice cream before we went to the park. Man...can not wait to go back and get frozen custard again!
When we weren't at the splash park, we played in the yard with the dog, and jumped on the tramp in the back yard. Thankfully The Bug didn't get another black eye like last year from the tramp. He also loved playing with the cat...loves cats. We just thoroughly enjoyed being outside in the warm weather.
The day we left for Malad we stopped at Shayne's Grandma & Grandpa Pond and took pics of our kids w/ their great-grandparents. We had actually went and visited them the night before, but forgot to take pics. Great-Grandma Pond loves her babies, she had 14 of her own, and was loving holding Sweet Pea and watching The Bug run around. They were both very involved in praying and attending the temple for our miracle babies, so they appreciated having us come visit.
We loved being in Ririe and had lots of fun w/ Grammy. I would love say we had lots of fun w/ Grandpa and dad...but we didn't really. They were gone most of the time fishing. Dad did take him craw-dadding one night and he did get to collect eggs at the farm from Uncle Dust's chickens. And he did love to get eggs. But we had lots of fun w/ Grammy and can't wait to go back and visit.
