“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

The Pond Family Cabin

Yeah for hot Idaho weather.  I got into Boise with the kids on Friday the 12th and stayed with my brother Kade and his family that night.  Shayne flew in the next morning and his brother picked him up.  However, before we headed for east Idaho, Shayne had to do a little fishing.  :)

A couple of years ago Kade, Ashley, and some of their friends came up to visit us.  One of those friends was Aaron Bowman who is an avid fly-fisherman like Shayne.  Well, he lives just around the corner from Kade and he ended up taking Shayne to a Bass pond to fish for a couple of hours before we drove to Ririe. I'll have to post the pics from his fishing adventure later.

We ended up driving Tayler's car and she and KayCee followed behind in KayCee's car as we drove to Ririe.  The plan was to head to the family cabin just outside of West Yellowstone that night, which is what we did.

This cabin is Shayne's grandparents on his dad's side.  They built it with all of their kids help and so each of the kids has a time allotted to use the cabin.  This is actually where Shayne and I went for our honeymoon...only it was in January not August so it looked a lot different!  :)

We had so much fun at the cabin.  Everyone but Dallin (he couldn't get work off) was there.  Shayne, his dad, and his brother Dustin spend a lot of time fishing and driving to Williston, ND.  His dad had business there he had to deal with.  So we got to spend a lot of time with Grammy Pond, Auntie Tay, Auntie KayCee and cousin PresLee.

Pres and The Bug had such a good time playing together.  Of course they had their little row's, but for the most part they got along really well.  They spend a lot of time running around, which was nice b/c they slept good at night.  :)

We went into West Yellowstone a couple of times for ice cream and to play at the playground.  Funny story about the playground...

The Bug loves to wear his cap way too low on his head so he can hardly see.  Well, he had it pulled down too low at the playground and was running for the swings and opted to run under the big blue slide to get to them.  He wasn't paying attention and his hat was too low and as he was running to the swings he hit the top of his head on the slide.  He hit it so hard it stopped him mid-step and he ended up falling clear over backwards.  KayCee and I were so startled we just started laughing.  It was pretty funny, but thankfully he was ok.  Just a little shaken up but no worse for the wear.

Anyway, we had a great time at the cabin.  Catching frogs in the creek.  Jumping off the deck.  Playing with KayCee's new iPhone.  Looking for frogs in the cabin (when it was actually Uncle Dustin's phone ringing). Eating smores.  And just running around playing whatever game they had in their heads.

Can't wait to go back next year!!
