“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Cut Lip

So, on the evening of November 3rd, The Bug fell and smacked his face on our wooden stairs going down to Shayne's fly-tying room. He was carrying something in his hand, but I'm pretty sure he just hit the edge of the stair with his lip, which pushed his tooth through his lip.

It was pretty traumatic...for me mostly. He cried for a bit, but settled down pretty quickly. I first saw blood in his mouth, then it started oozing out his the hole on the outside as well. Shayne had already left work, so I called him b/c it was a fairly large wound. He had me run him in, just so he could see the cut. We had one of the Doc's there take a peek at it as well. In the end, we decided to just leave it alone and let it scar a bit. A much better alternative to sedating him to put in stitches.

After we got home, we played with some bubble wrap we had gotten. He thought it was so much fun! He giggled non-stop while popping the bubbles. He wasn't able to pop them on his own, I had to help a bit, but he had a blast. It also let me get some good pics of his cut.

It has scarred, but it runs parallel to his lip, so it's not too noticeable. Now it's just added some character to his already cute little face. :)
