Snorkeling/Boogie Boarding

Of course with a waterproof camera you have to take pics while snorkeling. So I did. These will be fairly boring for most. My mom is a crazy snorkeler...she loves it! Most of the time she would just take off following some fish she thought was cool. I would look around and she would be gone. Gotta love my mom! Glad she had so much fun.

I also took pics of my mom, dad, and Shayne boogie boarding. I did attempt to boogie board, but got tired of getting pummeled by the massive waves. :) There is a pic in there of my parents talking to a guy who has his like 12 month old on the board with him. The locals there are CRAZY!! :) He must of stayed out there with his son for at least an hour. Both my mom and dad were able to catch some waves, and Shayne actually did pretty well. They had a good time.

Lachlan continued to fever a bit, so my dad wrapped him up, snuggled with him and was able to put him to sleep.

I also put pics of the highlight of our snorkeling. We got to swim with sea turtles. How cool is that?! My mom and I went out first. It was a little more treacherous than where we had been previously, b/c there was no reef for the waves to break on. You had to be careful you weren't slammed into the rocks where the turtles were. It was so dang cool though. There were about 5 or 6 of them just chillin'. My mom wanted a pic with them, but don't worry she didn't touch one. Just got a little close b/c of the waves. :) As we were coming back in, which was the same place as the boogie boarders, the waves were pounding in. I was finally at a place I could stand up, so I did, put the mask and snorkel on my forehead when a wave nailed me from behind. I struggled a bit to get myself off the rocks and then realized the wave had knocked my snorkel and mask off. So, I couldn't go out and get pics with Shayne and the Sea Turtles. I swam out there on a boogie board with him, but couldn't get more pics. I also had to pay for the snorkel rental...crap. Oh well...swimming with the sea turtles was worth it.

This was our last full day of activities in Kauai. We had so much fun. I was sunburned to a crisp seeing how I was out twice as long as anyone else snorkeling, but the memory and activity were worth it. At least now that I'm not hurting anymore anyway. :)
