“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”~Elder Neal A. Maxwell~

To Idaho! - Boating w/ Uncle Dal
So, we headed to Idaho for our annual summer trip...and we are in Idaho for 3 weeks. One week in Malad with my family, one week at the Pond Family Cabin in West Yellowstone the first part with Shayne's fam and the last part with my fam, and one week in Ririe with Shayne's family.
But...before we headed to Malad we spent a few hours with Shayne's brother, Dallan in Boise. We flew into Boise and he picked us up. We actually left Anchorage on the red-eye so got into Boise in the morning and our kids were exhausted...ok so were we. So, we went back to Dal's place and let Tiny and I sleep a bit and then we went out to a lake on Dal's boat, and soaked up some seriously warm sun. Yeah for the sun!
He took us to one end of the lake/reservoir where we were able to get in the water and swim. Shordy thought it was awesome! He loved using his life vest to paddle around with his dad and Uncle Dal. Poor Tiny was still so exhausted. She got in the water for a bit, and did ok, but it wasn't her favorite. I forgot to bring swim diapers so there's a shot where Dad is holding her and showing her huge diaper...or the "junk in the trunk" shot. :)
After getting out of the water Dal got out the tube for Dad and Shordy to go on a ride on. Tiny fell asleep in my arms while we went to the other end of the lake and while Dad and Shordy went for a ride on the tube. Shordy thought that was pretty fun too. I love how he's started to be much more open to trying new things, instead of being timid, like he normally has been. It's fun for Dad too.
After the lake, Dal drove us to Burley where my dad met us and then my dad drove us the rest of the way to Malad...we didn't get to Malad until almost midnight...talk about one LONG day...which was actually 2 days, but when you don't sleep one of those nights...it's just one LONG day.
But...we are on vacation! Bring on the sun!!
p.s. Sorry about the non-rotated photos...but I think I rotated the rest of my Idaho trip pics so you don't have to turn your head sideways to look at the pics. :)
