“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”~Elder Neal A. Maxwell~

To the Pond Cabin - With The Pond's
So, our second week in Idaho was spent at the Pond Family Cabin in West Yellowstone. It's about 7-8 miles outside of the town of West Yellowstone and the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The Pond cabin is also affectionately known as the "Honeymoon Cabin" as well...Shayne & I along with numerous cousins have honeymooned at this cabin. ;)
The first 3 days were spent with Shayne's family the Ponds. The last 3 days were spent with my family the Prices.
We got there on Sunday afternoon and had a bit of an over-lap with Shayne's Uncle Matt and his new wife Kris and her family who had stayed for the weekend with Grandma & Grandpa Pond. Dana, Shayne's Dad, had asked his mom and dad to stay a little bit and share some interesting stories about the cabin, the area, and of their newly married years. It was fun to listen to Grandma & Grandpa Pond share some fun memories about their lives, and then to hear Grandpa Pond share his testimony about the importance of families and teaching our children correct principles.
The pics were outside the cabin not long after we got there. You can see Dustin and his girlfriend, Melody, who came just for the afternoon and had to drive back to Montana for work the next morning...though we tried REALLY hard to convince her to stay. And, you can see Dad and Tiny hanging out. It may look overcast, but it's not...it was the smoke from some fire somewhere in Idaho. They were all over. I love the pic of Tayler on the porch with Shayne and Tiny...she's totally posing. :)
We love coming to the cabin. It's such a nice respite from the hecticness of what our Idaho trip can sometimes be. We always look forward to the time at the cabin.
