“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Great G & G Gerth

On June 25th, Shayne's Grandma & Grandpa Gerth flew into Anchorage. We picked them up that afternoon and then went and stayed with Kaye & Jared Tuia for the evening. We knew that everyone would be tired. We left the next morning to drive to Soldotna, but first we had to go to the Anchorage Airplane Museum...Grandpa Gerth is a pilot with his own plane and LOVES to go through every airplane museum he can. It was a pretty good museum b/c Alaska truly was explored and settled by bush pilots, so we have an extensive history with airplanes. Grandpa could have spent 2 or 3 days there, but only had about 3-4 hours. Grandma and I ended up doing a quick trip to Costco while Shayne, Grandpa and Lachlan meandered around the museum. On our drive home we stopped at Portage Glacier/Lake and Grandpa go to see some iceberg's up close. We also pit-stopped at Sixmile Creek and took some pics there.

They loved seeing Lachlan. It wasn't the first time they had seen him...they made a quick trip to Idaho while Shayne & I were there and met him for a few hours. So, this was the first time they got to spend any quality time with him.
