Shayne's Grandma Gerth is an excellent seamstress. She has multiple sewing/embroidery machines at her house. In fact, she happened to have more than one Janome MemoryCraft sewing/embroidery machine. After talking a few times about sewing, she knew I was interested in the whole sewing/embroidery thing. In fact, she knew that my little beginner sewing machine had gone kaput on me while sewing Lachlan's Easter basket. So...right before they came up to visit, she went to the UPS store and packed up her Janome MemoryCraft 9000 (along with about 20-30 memory cards and other "supplies) to send to me. She already had the 10000 so wasn't using the 9000 much. It arrived almost the same time they did, and all I have to say is..."Yeah for UPS for packing that thing up!" It arrived in perfect shape!
So...Grandma spent almost 2 full days showing me how to use this machine. It is incredible!! I still have no idea how to use most of it's features, but that's what the owner's manual and Grandma Gerth are for! :) It is seriously an awesome machine, and I am so excited to start all the projects I have in mind. Our summer has been nothing short of hectic, but we have awfully long winters. So...I'll be doing a bunch of sewing this winter.
The pic above is of my first embroidery project, and the others are of a little fleece hat I made with Lachlan's name on it. I was so proud of myself for accomplishing this feat!
I am so excited about this machine!! Thank you Grandma Gerth for thinking of me and going through all the trouble to pack and send it, and then to take 2 days out of your vacation to teach me. You are AWESOME!!!
THANK YOU!!!
