“The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us.”

Capt. John & the Time Bandit

So, Grandpa Gerth likes to watch "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery. And...on the Homer Spit is a little shop called "The Time Bandit". Which just happens to be one of the crab ships on the show. As our luck would have it, Capt. John just happened to be in the store that day. He was late for a flight, but readily and friendly agreed to take a pic before he left. He was signing all kinds of autographs of items sold in his store. He was very nice, and when Grandpa asked him if he ever got sea sick, he responded, "All the time...I lose it out the window of the captain's nest all the time." Why would you work on a crab ship if you got seasick all the time?! Whatever...we were excited to be meeting him.

We then had dinner at a little restaurant called "The Tea Cup" in downtown Homer. It was very good. Lachlan only got to chew on a spoon while sitting in his high chair like a good little boy. He had just about everyone in the tiny restaurant thinking he was the cutest little boy. I would have to concur with them! :)
